Ballina

We have now met up with cousin Kathleen and are enjoying her brother's home. The journey down was uneventful, we camped on what we thought was Agnes Water free camping but were given a receipt for 11 dollars at 6.30 in the morning. In Childers , the last night on the road we met a lady who has been on the road for 8 years. She drove a rather large van with a trailer, with a dog for company. At the campsite there were lots of backpackers, mainly from Thailand working on the farms, at the moment they were on tomatoes, but moved on to other crops as the season changed. We are driving to Brisbane tomorrow after meeting Derek, my cousin, Kathleen's brother. I don't really remember him, he emigrated to Australia at about the same time as I left for Sweden. We leave the van in Brisbane and I'm not sure what will happen then but there seems to be plenty of relations willing to look after us before we move down to Sydney which will be a few days before 6th November when we fly to New Zealand.
The big event of today apart from climbing Cooroora mountain was that it rained for the first time on this holiday. Hope it rained further north where they haven't had rain since February.
