Auckland Grand

Sorry I didn't realise that the photos were published, time ran out as usual. I am having trouble with photos, it takes ages. If anyone has a better idea let me know. So we left Australia afer a full day visiting the opera house, Bondi beach, Manly (a lovely ferry ride) and Kings Cross where we had a good meal (according to K).
Auckland looks lovely from the air and from Mt Eden which was just a stroll compared with Pomona. An eldery Japanese couple showed us the way to the path up. We must look like tourists. Otherwise we spent most of the first day going round car hire firms listening to 10 dollars a day rise to 35. We also visited backpacker car sales. There's plenty of cars but it's difficult to know what to do. The hostel here is like an old school building, tiny room with no furniture except 2 beds, old fashioned decor and 3 toilets and 2 showers for the whole corridor. We hope to get out as soon as poss as Auckland does not appeal to us at all. We are hoping to go north and find a place for at least a week and just take it easy.
