In the rainforest
We picked up our van in Cairns on friday morning. It's very compact but everythings there, even the kitchen sink. Easy to drive, Eileen set off as she has more experience of left side driving. Everything went fine, even through the towns, Bruce Highway which we are following turns inland a while but the countryside was beautiful, traffic light and the road easy. We began to look for a campsite, it is best to top up on electricity the first evening we had been told. Murray Falls looked fine. We turned off the road and abour 30 min later arrived at a clearing in the forest. There was actually a wc and shower but no electricity. No worries, we took a walk to the waterfall, (pictures later) signed in by putting 10 dollars in a box, prepared food and a cup of tea on our little gas stove. Darkness comes early so there's not much to do unles you are an astronomer. There were 3 or 4 other campers and everything worked fine so it felt really great finding this beautifull spot off the beaten track.
